We are delighted to welcome Winslow Wheeler to discuss his new book, “THE WASTRELS OF DEFENSE: How Congress Sabotages U. S. Security” (Naval Institute Press, 2004). Mr. Wheeler is a Visiting Senior Fellow at the Center for Defense Information in Washington who spent 30 years working on Capital Hill, on the staffs of both Democratic and Republican Senators, and for the General Accounting Office. He was recently on 60 Minutes (October 31, 2004), commenting on equipment deficiencies for US military personnel in Iraq.
