The World Policy Institute has announced the appointment of Yaffa Fredrick as the new Director of Communications. The announcement comes on the heels of a tremendous 2014 for the organization, which has a long reputation of engaging thought leaders on the crucial but neglected challenges and opportunities of an increasingly connected world.
Fredrick is taking the position of Director of Communications after serving as Managing Editor for World Policy Journal for the last year and a half. Previously, she had been responsible for the commissioning and creation of the print edition of the Journal, as well as the daily news commentary provided on the web. In her time with the Journal, she has grown the web audience 30 percent and doubled its social media presence. In her new role, she will maintain her duties as Managing Editor while working to develop a media strategy that showcases the best work of the Institute and the Journal. Fredrick will develop a system of channels to clearly and consistently articulate the important programs, events, and research produced by the Institute.

Cari, Jr. “In her new capacity, she will be able to magnify the influence of the Journal’s reportage and couple it with the innovative and transformative work produced by the Institute.”
Fredrick will assume her new role immediately and work with Kate Maloff, Executive Director and Amanda Dugan, Director of Programs & Administration to determine the best long-term communications strategy for the Institute.
