With the world’s population soaring past the 7 billion mark, a host of countries are finding it increasingly difficult to feed their people today, while laying the foundation for a future that promises to be even more crowded—and hungrier.

World Policy Journal has compiled an overview of some of the world’s most pressing food security issues. The map below provides an analysis of the situation across five continents, including an overview of the the problem, a sample of the solution, and a few of the key obstacles in implementing those solutions.
